Hi there! I'm Sergi, a software engineer living in my home town, Reus (Spain). I am interested in building tools to help creative people achieve their goals.
The tools we use everyday shape how we live and how we think, so I believe it's important to pay attention to how these work. I want to help build better tools for specialized tasks and for specific people. Since no two people are the same, I believe there's a lot of tools to explore, design and build. I want to play with the full space of possibilities.
Even with existing tools, I find there's a lot of room for improvement from a technical point of view. To do so and to understand our current limitations, I want to learn the strong fundamentals needed to write software from scratch. I know there are others who share my point of view and who are in a similar journey.
As a kid I loved playing videogames, so when the time came to decide on what to study, I chose Computer Engineering. After taking a few university classes, I was shown there is much more to software development than I thought initially. So, while I still very much enjoy making games, my interests are more broad.
I have a couple of years of professional experience. I started developing Virtual Reality apps in Unity to teach history, then moved to a conventional web development role. After it, I decided to go back to my initial interests and study a master's degree on game development while looking for a part time role which gets me closer to my objectives.
